Here’s an idea: anyone who wants to move to Europe, just let ’em trade their American citizenship for citizenship of any European country, provided they find a willing European, of whom there is assuredly no shortage. Now if we can just persuade the EU to allow it.
In other words, if you don’t like it here, leave… Hmm, that’s an original argument.
Not exactly. A citizenship swap removes all barriers to leaving, and gives someone else more appreciative, and probably more deserving, a chance to come here at the same time. How could anyone possibly object?
